Lorraine Ali is a writer whose byline has appeared in a diverse roster of publications including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, GQ, Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, Ladies Home Journal, Rolling Stone, SPIN, Option, The L.A. Weekly, and The Village Voice.

She’s interviewed everyone from Jay-Z to Jenna Bush—and has been interviewed on Oprah, Charlie Rose, and Good Morning America. Her profiles include “The Kite Runner” author Khaled Hosseini, Beyonce, Loretta Lynn, Michael Moore, Outkast, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Pearl Jam and Ali G.

Along the way she’s lived on both coasts, won several awards, and traveled extensively. Her current projects include writing a book about the Iraqi Diaspora by recounting the plight of her extended family in Iraq following the 2003 U.S. invasion of Baghdad.
